Process of Lepakarma :

1.1 Preparation :

  • Selection of Herbs: A combination of herbs is chosen based on the individual’s condition, skin type, and specific ailment.
  • Grinding and Mixing: The herbs are ground into a fine paste using water, oil, or other liquids.

1.2 Application of Lepa :

  • Pasting the Skin: The herbal paste is evenly applied to the affected area or the whole body.
  • Resting Phase: The paste is left to dry on the skin for a specified period, usually between 30 minutes to an hour. During this time, it penetrates the skin and absorbs toxins.

  • Removal of Paste: Once dried, the lepa is gently washed off with lukewarm water, leaving the skin rejuvenated and cleansed.

1.4 Post Treatment Care :

  • Moisturization: Oils or lotions may be applied post-treatment to nourish and hydrate the skin.
  • Dietary and Lifestyle Advice: Recommendations on lifestyle changes and diet are provided to enhance the effects of Lepakarma.

This treatment is effective in treating skin ailments like eczema, psoriasis, and acne, and in providing relief from muscle pain and inflammation.
